Vintage Epi vs. Monogram reissue

Two families coexist. The vintage Soufflot (1985 - early 2000s) is a structured trapeze top-handle in Epi grained leather, with a key-and-lock closure. The 2018 reissue offers the Soufflot BB (28 × 20 × 14 cm) and the Soufflot MM (32.5 × 22 × 15 cm) in Monogram canvas with natural cowhide trim and a detachable strap — a clean update on an 80s classic.

Epi leather and coated canvas

The Epi leather built the vintage Soufflot's reputation: water-resistant tanning, deep through-dyed colour, signature wave grain. It ages well as long as it is kept out of long direct sunlight, which can dull it. The coated Monogram canvas of the reissue is forgiving in daily use, with natural-leather corners to monitor — they darken into patina over time. At retail, the 2018 Soufflot BB launched around $2,000 and the MM around $2,200. Pre-owned, expect from roughly $650 for a well-loved vintage Epi piece up to $1,300 for a near-mint Monogram reissue.
