Pre-Owned Burberry Women's Accessories | JoliCloset

Founded in 1856 in Basingstoke by Thomas Burberry, the house was built around fabric before it was built around the bag. Gabardine patented in 1879, the Nova Check tartan placed inside trench linings in the 1920s and then pulled onto the outside under Christopher Bailey in the early 2000s — all of that iconography concentrates in women's accessories. The trench will always be the hero product, but the 325 Burberry accessories in our catalogue (average €310, from €69) are where you can read the brand's grammar fastest: Scottish cashmere, archive-print silk, British leather and the TB buckle.

Silk scarves, mufflers and cashmere

Textiles dominate: 132 silk scarves in the 90 x 90 cm square, carrying archive prints (trench sketches, equestrian knights, Nova Check photoprints), and 100 cashmere scarves in the 200 x 70 cm muffler cut, woven in Scotland in pure wool or cashmere. The fringed cashmere muffler in ivory-red-beige-black Nova Check is the single most recognisable Burberry piece in the world — introduced in the 1960s and never out of the catalogue since.

Hats, belts, gloves, sunglasses

Small leather goods complete the grammar. 37 hats, including the Nova Check gabardine bucket (the quintessential British rain piece), cashmere berets and fur-lined trappers from the Daniel Lee era. 20 belts in calfskin or Nova Check canvas, with either the TB interlock buckle drawn by Tisci in 2018 or the vintage double-prong buckle. 7 pairs of gloves — lamb nappa, cashmere-lined driving styles. 21 sunglasses produced under Luxottica licence, Italian acetate with "Made in Italy" etched on the temple.

Materials and origins

Cashmere woven in Scotland (Johnstons of Elgin has been a historical supplier), Italian silk printed in Como, Italian calfskin on classic belts, English brushed leather on Heritage pieces, Italian acetate on sunglasses. Each material carries its own authentication signature: the mill stamp on the cashmere fringe, the "BURBERRY" woven into the selvedge of silk scarves, the engraving inside belt buckles, the "Made in Italy" on sunglass temples.
