The 1994 Duma is the grail. Lambskin has the softest hand but shows wear fast: on a backpack worn daily, expect tension creasing on the straps and light scuffs on the front pocket. Caviar calfskin is far more forgiving and ages slowly. Graffiti canvas and Cocoon nylon both handle heavy use well, but inspect the strap stitching — the usual fatigue point on a ten-year-old rucksack — plus the condition of the CC turnlocks, period-correct YKK zips, and the original interior lining. A relined bag that has passed through anyone other than Chanel loses value.

Price and value on the resale market
