Pre-Owned Chanel Watch | J12 & Première | JoliCloset

Launched in 2000 under art director Jacques Helleu, the J12 pushed high-tech ceramic into fine watchmaking and turned Chanel into a genuine watch house. Thirteen years earlier, in 1987, the Première had already opened the way with its octagonal case inspired by the N°5 stopper and the geometry of Place Vendôme. Iconic models

The J12 remains the cornerstone of the offer: black or white ceramic, 33, 38 or 41 mm cases, unidirectional bezel with 120 clicks. The Première, octagonal and issued in Rock, Velvet or Mini versions, keeps its woven leather-and-chain bracelet. The Boy·Friend (2015), a unisex tonneau, nods to Boy Capel and the Boy bag. Code Coco (2017) builds the 2.55 quilted clasp into the case, while Monsieur de Chanel (2016) introduced the house's first in-house men's movement with jumping hour and retrograde minute.

Movements and materials

Since 2019, the J12 runs on the Calibre 12.1, an in-house automatic co-produced with Kenissi and COSC-certified, with a 70-hour power reserve. Earlier references use ETA or Audemars Piguet-adjacent automatic calibres, or quartz on the smaller formats. On the materials side: matte and glossy ceramic, steel, 18k gold, and diamond-set or baguette bezels on Haute Horlogerie pieces.

Retail pricing and resale value

At boutique, a standard J12 lands between €5,000 and €8,000, a Première between €3,000 and €8,000, while gem-set and Haute Horlogerie pieces climb well above €100,000. On the secondary market, black ceramic J12s and discontinued Premières hold their value particularly well. Authentication
