Authentication

Since April 2021, Chanel moved from hologram stickers to a ~3 cm metal plate with an embedded NFC microchip, mounted on the interior wall — the serial code is an 8-character alphanumeric sequence. On older pieces, the hologram sticker (6-digit on early bags, 8-digit from the late 1980s onward) provides the reference point. The CC turn-lock has a precise orientation: the right C faces forward on top and behind on the bottom. Hardware screws on the lock-plate are flat-head or proprietary star — never Phillips.
